Evaluating Your Current Outdoor Lighting System

Every outdoor lighting system is different. Different fixtures, different settings, different properties. One thing they all have in common, however, is that periodically throughout its life, an outdoor lighting system needs to checked and maintained to keep it in top shape.

At Outdoor Lighting Perspectives, we pride ourselves on the continued service we provide our customers. Our maintenance plans guarantee that we come check the system periodically. Additionally, we encourage all of our customers call us if they notice any issues with the system. Unfortunately, not every outdoor lighting company is as dedicated to maintenance as we are.

For those homeowners who have an outdoor lighting system that hasn’t been serviced in a while, we suggest taking a good look at all parts of your system to see if it needs attention. Walk around your property and look at each fixture carefully (both at night and during the day). Are the fixtures in good condition? Are they looking worn? Do the bulbs give off equal amounts of light? Are the effectively illuminating the walkways that you travel at night? During the day, walk around to see if you notice any exposed wires that need to reburied or may have accidentally been cut (this sometimes happens during yard work). If you see anything that you think needs work, call a professional lighting company to take a look.

We at OLP are happy to evaluate all low-voltage outdoor lighting systems, even if we didn’t install it as there are certain aspects of your system that you may not know how to check. When we come out for an evaluation, we check the voltage to each fixture, transformers, timers and more. We’ll provide recommendations on what will make the system look and work better and, most importantly, what will make it safer for you and your property.

If you have any questions regarding the safety of your outdoor lighting system, please contact your local Outdoor Lighting Perspectives office.
