Ojai Founders Story
Before I opened this Outdoor Lighting Perspectives (OLP) location, my career was in construction technology. I’ve always enjoyed building things, figuring out the details of good design, and actually getting my hands dirty. But my path to outdoor lighting really started in my own backyard.
Almost ten years ago, my wife and I bought our house here in Ojai. The landscapers had put in a handful of lights, and I decided to tackle the rest of the yard myself. I didn’t realize at the time how much of an impact it would make. It’s honestly hard to put into words, but finishing that lighting changed everything about how we experienced our home. Our backyard became the place where friends and family gathered long after the sun went down, and it allowed us to actually enjoy the beauty of the Ojai landscape well into the night.
Experiencing firsthand how much life those lights brought to our yard planted a seed. It made me want to do this kind of hands-on work every day, which eventually led me to step away from the tech side of construction and become an OLP owner.
Today, my wife and I are raising our three kids right here in Ojai, and I just feel lucky that I get to spend my days working outside in the community we love.
