Lighting Up The Blue Jean Ball

Every so often, I like to dedicate a blog to something cool and interesting that is happening in our local CSRA community. This is one of those blogs.

We are excited to donate the lighting for this great event

You may not know that Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Augusta and Lake Oconee is the CSRA’s premier event lighting experts. We are often asked to provide event lighting for parties, weddings, and special occasions. This Saturday, we have donated some of our outdoor lights for a good cause – The Annual Blue Jean Ball. This annual party is a fun charity event that seeks to raise money and awareness for Turn Back the Block.

What is Turn Back the Block? Turn Back the Block is a non-profit organization that exists to revitalize our local Harrisburg community by supporting home improvement and promoting home ownership.

A Recent Home Rehab Project in Harrisburg

From their website – “Not too long ago, the Harrisburg community was a thriving place to live, shop, worship and learn…In recent years, Harrisburg has experienced disinvestment, and the pride that once radiated through the community has dwindled. Turn Back the Block is a plan to return that sense of pride in the neighborhood and change lives for the better…recent statistics show the 14% of Harrisburg homes are vacant or abandoned, and that less 25% of homes are owner-occupied. Turn Back the Block is founded on the belief that home ownership is the axis for community transition. Using the existing housing stock in this historic mill village, Turn Back the Block enables individuals and families the opportunity to participate in the rehabilitation of their future homes via sweat equity. Our Family Selection and Shepherding Committee will qualify applicants and assist them in the process of home ownership, both before and after closing. Turn Back The Block offers low and interest- free mortgages to participants, and utilizes all payments to build the program for other families”.
