Des Moines Bridge: Shining Through History and In Remembrance

This installation was for Wright County in Clarion, IA on a historical bridge that spans over the entrance to the boat docks on Lake Cornelia. The bridge is a Pratt Pony Truss design that was built in 1877 and is also listed on the national registry of historical places in Iowa. These bridge lights were pre-programmed to different light scenes that will rotate throughout the year. One of the pre-programmed scenes is in honor of a donor’s daughter who was married on this bridge. She has since passed away, but the bridge shines purple in remembrance. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives was extremely fortunate to be part of this project and to receive such positive feedback from the community.
