National Association of the Remodeling Industry 2016 Remodel of the Year Award

John Bruce, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Kansas City owner and outdoor lighting designer, was recently presented with the 2016 Remodel of the Year Award for best exterior element by NARI, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.

REMY BadgeIn an event held in mid-November, Mr. John Bruce along with twenty-two other NARI Contractors were honored by the NARI Kansas City chapter for craftsmanship, professionalism and a commitment to excellence in remodeling.

Mr. Bruce was honored to hear the news of receiving the award. “To be selected by NARI for this award is truly an honor,” stated Mr. Bruce. “The winning projects represent some of the highest quality projects in Kansas City and to be included in that group and selected by a group of my peers means a lot to me and our entire Outdoor Lighting Perspectives team.”

John Bruce’s winning outdoor architectural and landscape lighting project provided exterior LED illumination at the façade of three house faces on a Kansas City residence that had recently undergone major renovations of the interior and restoration of the exterior façade. Lighting was positioned at the ground and at elevated balconies to illuminate and highlight key features of the exterior structure.

“When we discussed LED, the homeowners were concerned about the light color," explained Mr. Bruce. "We were able to demonstrate to the homeowner that today’s LED bulbs provide a warm white color that is both inviting and aesthetically pleasing. The illumination of the property took the beauty of the home that is seen during the day and created a masterpiece when the sun goes down.”

Entries for the 2016 NARI Remodel of the Year (REMY) awards were judged on a 90-point system that included project overview, before and after photos, budget considerations, overall aesthetic appeal and communication with the homeowner. Remodeling contractors from the Greater Omaha NARI chapter served as judges.
